Spot the Habit

This is a fun way for kids to use real world scenarios and connect them to a habit.  I show all kinds of commercials, or video clips and the kids are to fill out the Spot the Habit organizer to use for our discussion.

Curriculum Connections for PLVS and the Seven Habits

In my district, we use Kentucky's Practical Living Vocational Studies program to teach our Guidance classes.  Since our school is a Leader in Me School, we also teach the Seven Habits.  I decided to break down the PLVS curriculum and match it with the habit it falls in line with to show others just how simple it is to embed the Seven Habits into what is already being done. Hopefully you will find this helpful as you advocate for the Leader in Me initiative in your school. _________________________________________________________________________

7 Habits in Action: School Wide Expectations

March Madness

March is going to be a whirlwind of exciting opportunities!  First, I am so excited to share that I will be presenting at the Kentucky School Counseling Association Conference March 5-7.  I will be doing a pre-conference workshop about how to implement the Leader In Me into the Guidance Curriculum. I will be sharing lesson plan ideas, curriculum alignment with the LIM and much more.   In addition, my school W.R McNeill Elementary, will be serving as a host school at this year's Leader In Me Symposium on March 4.  We are excited to share our school's success and showcase our student's leadership abilities.  As if these great Honors weren't enough, our Lighthouse Team will be presenting at the Symposium as well.  March 5, we will be providing a break out session titled: How to integrate the LIM seamlessly into your school.   It truly has been so seamless, that we just want to be able to share this awesome initiative with everyone!  If you haven...
