Office make-over

I have been in this office for going on 6 years and ready for a change!  I am hoping to brighten it up and purge!  My first item to spruce up is my file drawers. I haven't been using these much this year because I was so tired of the black look. So I decided to get out my handy dandy decopauge and make jazz them up. Lucky for me, I am a scrapbooker and have a secret obsession with decopauge, so this ended up costing umm...NOTHING!  Yay!!!  These are going to be great for organizing my "To Do" piles and hopefully keep things looking more cheery!

Growth Mindset: Extension Activity

Last week, we learned about having a Growth Mindset.  This week, I am hoping to go a little further with this topic by using this "Star Wars' clip.  I found this amazing website called Step-up 2 thrive .  This site does a lot of work with Mindset and is helping me find resources to support what I am doing in the classroom.  LESSON PLAN:  REVISED TO MEET MY STUDENTS' NEEDS Tell students to do the following: (WORKSHEET PROVIDED ) 1.  On the side labeled,   On the side labeled, "Things that are hard", list things that you struggle with, or challenge you.  In the column labeled, "Things I say to myself about doing these things," have students write phrases they may say to themselves when something becomes difficult.  Here are a few examples:  I can't Too Hard There's no Way It's too much This is gonna take forever 2..  Show video clip:  3.  After viewing clip, Have students answer the following questions...
I have created this worksheet as an assessment or pre-assessment for students learning about Habit 2.  I wanted to see what they remembered from last year, so I gave this to my students in 1st and 2nd. My kindergartners used this as a means of applying what we have learned in Guidance that day about Habit 2.  Hopefully you find it usesful!
