Working with your dashboard on Blogger

How to set up your own blog!

When I first started blogging, I was clueless!  To many experienced bloggers, I probably still am.  However, I am working toward changing that.  When I decided to start a blog, I literally googled how to do it.  If it weren't for some very handy you tube videos, I probabaly would have given up.  So I decided to make one for you all.  I can't say this enough but "I AM NOT AN EXPERT!"  I'm just a fellow School Counselor trying to figure it out and hopefully pave a way for others that is less stressful and more efficient.  I hope you enjoy this video and find it helpful.  I welcome your feedback.

Planning Guide: Using ASCA Standards to Align the Habits

I have been trying to come up with a way to easily align the habits with the ASCA Standards.  As a pilot participant in the OPGES, I am finding it crucial that I am able to prove that I am using these standards in my program.  I discovered this editable Planning Tool that had the ASCA Standards Developmental Crosswalk already in it.  It was super easy at this point, to include the Habit that I felt best aligned with each competency.  I guess I should say that I aligned it with the habit that I enforce when teaching the competency.  For the most part each habit can be embedded somehow in the each skill in my opinion.  I really hope this helps you as you streamline your Guidance Program with the Leader in Me.

7 Habits Review Time: Seven Habits Speedway

My Younger kids (K-2) have all been introduced or reviewed all 7 Habits so it's time for me to be sure they know them and can apply them to real world situations.   In order to make that fun, I found this great race car game!  I have designed questions for each habit, and will divide the kids into groups (color groups for each car), and ask the questions.  When a group answers correctly they get to move their car.  What I love about this is, there's no dice to deal with, and no pieces to have to manipulate.  It does it all for you.
